The Russell 2000 hit a new intraday all time high by a fraction (.17) and then closed down on the session. That's very bearish.

I'd expect a lot more downside follow through starting tomorrow.

The S@P 400 Midcap never confirmed the bull move in the Dow. Neither did the Nasdaq Comp.

Many Negative divergencies.

Watch out below.

there are as you indicate many possible reasons gold gets bought or sold. the main theme at present seems to be liquidity driven: a rising tide lift(s)(ed) all boats.
that will change. in the change gold will suffer at first. the suffering will test gold bugs metal and will challenge most of thier assumptions about why to hold gold
