OK, downloaded Lightroom and the Universal version of Photo Mechanic. First impression? Lightroom takes some time to render 5MB JPEG files (a tad of jaggies show up first, then the image pops in). Sort of like I'm used to on my iBook when using Photo Mechanic, but faster. On the other hand, the Universal version of Photo Mechanic simply SCREAMS. Zero waiting, for anything, full screen horizontal, one after the other. As fast as you can push the next arrow button. Unbelievable!!!
