It's perhaps just that I don't believe that standing in front of a rushing train, and berating the fact that the train "is there", is a very useful thing. (And, consider this possibility: the longer outsiders try to control the political developments in the Iraqi territories, the longer we ourselves sit there having both sides take pot shots at us and use us as a scapegoat, a recruitment tool and an excuse for their own failures... the longer and the bloodier the Iraqi civil war will be, before a political settlement is reached by the locals.)
