Not exactly. I agree with the teach him to fish mantra. What upset me was that the poster(s) while making all sort of excuses for the federal response to katrina, rightfully attacked state and local govt and wrongly went after the poorest of the poor and the blackest of the black who had little and lost everything--home, transportation if any, job (most had jobs), and loved ones. So the picture of not feeding the animals related to all of the above, not just the initial quote which has been benignly used before to attack welfare dependency. The fact is that the poor lived below sea level in NO, and the fact they had to move to Houston and that they didnt have skills and are now unable to adjust only occurred because of Mother Nature, housing that was vulnerable and jobs that disappeared. These folks deserve help and not the scorn heaped upon them by smug posters.
