During the Clinton years, there was a plan to assassinate Osama Bin Laden when he was on a hunting trip. They cancelled the plan because one of his hunting partners was one of the Emirs of Dubai! How much closer can they get to terrorists!

They did not oppose the Tailban BEFORE the US war... they financially SUPPORTED the Taliban at that time, and were one of only a handful of countries on the face of the Earth to OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZE the radical Theocratic government in Afghanistan.
