So who is the ultimate bagholder? Sitting on vacant property for 2,3 years must take it's toll. I can't believe folks will sit on all these new empty high end condos I see around my hood for that long.

That's a good question and one that I'd like to know the answer to. The Excite building that Lizzie is talking about is an icon of the bust. It's owned wholly, or in part, by Stanford somehow. They've got plenty of money to sit on it. Investment groups or REITs may have the ability to wait for the right occasion. You never know.
