Yep, economics it is, not politics as some believe.

American clothing. I've had a hard time with shoes, since my feet are an odd size and only a few brands fit- I've had to go with China, France and Italy- because the shoes that fit me are Ariat, Mephisto and Taryn Rose. I'm willing to pay more to buy American, but I'm not willing to limp.

And interestingly, I shopped for a long time to buy an American made every day dinner service recently (Fiesta, if you should care, is still made in America).

I have already said many times, on many boards, that those who care about American workers should work hard to find American products- and I do. I also feel much safer eating American foods. Our government may not be perfect, but it's a lot less corrupt than, say, the government of China. I'm surprised at the number of "organic" foods coming from China. I don't trust their standards on organic food to be the equal of ours, but you'd be surprised how many people don't even look for the country of origin on their food. I always check for country of origin.
