This later day prophecy stuff is fascinating isn't it ? Especially how its manifesting now in Iran with this *"Return of The Mahdi " and "New World Order"* platform and the counterpart element in the Armeggeddonite Apostolic Rapturists here in the US . However convinced they are of the divine right of holy purpose , certainly it should not go unoticed that the true "holy land & holy grails" lay in the realm of human anthropology & psychology to eventually sort out why human beings given enough indoctrination , will always opt for the age old "Messsiah/Hero/Prophet" cults . But it follows along the lines of ancient tribalism and all they've known and have been exposed to . Maybe Google , CSCO and MSFT will help bring about the fundamental changes of literacy and access to information necessary for the new changes to occur . But once upon a time all this Mahdi/Messiah mystery cult crap made for good theatre, and now its nothing more than bad drama. The other great destructive mass cults were the Marxist idealists that relaced the Imam/Mahdi/Messiahs with the Stalins, Marx and Maos and replaced worship of God with worship of the state . One starts with an ideology/theology/mythology reinforced by a scriptural and doctrinal based hatred with a few twisted charismatic leaders to exploit it ...and a large number of young uneductated unemployed youth susceptable to the search for glory of the tribe nation and God already innured to hardship leads to just one more boring bloody Jhiad/Crusade/Revolution . But so empty are the voids in some of these societies that have been forever engaged in sectarian/tribal civil wars . These social orders of countries like Iran and before in Afghhanistan ruled by such menacing fundamentalist regimes are so fraigile that the moment you begin to educate, employ and bring literacy to greater portions of the population it all begins to fade away like a bad dream in the fog ...just like communism faded away or is adapting in China. The conditions in Iraq are the perfect cauldron perhaps once and for all for Islam to be confronted with its own disfunctional madness of sectarian hatred and violence. The latest challenge for them maybe to decimate the present reliance on this menace of fundamentalist revival that also once ravaged the continents of Europe and led towards more moderate secular democratic movement . Maybe more 1000's of humans will have to die horribly by continued terror attacks, bombings and civil war , until the wreak and stench of it makes them ill enough to change. The problem of mass consumerism of the West is also under the microsope for analysis , in this there are legitimate issues that this clash of "civilizations" might just find some good outcome after all ...and hopefully we all get thru this "period of adjustment " without the background radiation levels of the earth being dramatically increased <g> ;-))
