Well this is the issue as I see it: Too many people apparently trying to reproduce or interpret or modify the calculations. And not enough - if any - who actually make and post buys. Perhaps these are people who lack faith and/or understanding of his formulaic approach... or maybe people without funds to make buys.

Came across CVGI on today's search of top 100 over 25M. Looks okay to me for a spec. buy. I've taken a few shares.

Shane, I hope it helps with the equations. Tony B seems to catch a significant number of stocks. But as Joel G notes, other sources "will only give a rough approximation of the magic formula results because of differences both in the criteria the user can select and the underlying data sources".

Are you using AAII StockInvestor Pro? From what I can see it looks pretty good, though I wonder about having to rely on monthly CDs and only a weekly update for quotes. Any thoughts?

I'm also looking at Reuters PowerScreener 3.0 but am having lots of trouble finding the variables to work a little magic.
