Thank you, and we're definitely in agreement. Well, except for the love of political blathering in its appropriate venue. Religion and politics are two topics I learned long ago to never engage in because of their all-consuming nature and the way we all feel about our own opinions on those subjects. Only we, individually, know the real Truth and those who see otherwise are wrong. :)

I really don't mind so much (anymore) that political discussion happens here. I minded when we acquired the site and it comprised the majority of discussion here. Discussion we'd never make a dime from (and these lights aren't cheap to keep lit) because the only people engaging in those discussions didn't see ads and had paid subscriptions to previous owners.

I see political (or ANY non-market discussion) as something that's a privilege afforded those who have earned it either by being former market-content contributors long ago, or having bought subscriptions. We're a market site, but people who talk about the market also want to talk about other things, and if they want to use our software, hardware, and bandwidth to do so, fine, as long as it's not a privilege we give away for free (which is why free members can't post to those forums) and it's kept out of the market threads.

We genuinely appreciate free users and want a LOT more of them. Collectively, you contribute about 10% of the total content of the site. A far larger percentage of the market-specific content.
