<This is the problem with Libertarianism. As with the idea that 'capitalism is the most efficient system' and we should always let 'market forces' determine the outcome, it does not work in the real world.>

But, but .. huh? You just finished expressing libertarian views then say that your views don't work? Why say them if you don't believe them. <The reality is the civil court system doesn't work. It's extraordinarily expensive, prone to fraud, prone to idiocy, delay and other things. What good is having a case against a corporation if it takes 10 years to get through the system? >

Oh, I guess you meant another government agency would supervise the legal agencies to make it right.

Market forces do work in the real world. They don't work so that you get the money or services from slave labour at the price you want, but they work just fine. There have always been people who think they should run the show and have servants cool them with palm fronds and feed them grapes while they recline and enjoy the aesthetics with their especial aesthetic sensibilities. Welcome to the real world Geode. People don't want to be your slave. They prefer to buy and sell at what the market will bear. That's why eBay is so popular and USSR food queues are not.

Actually, as a friend of my wife's husband said in the 1960s "Property is everything". Not meaning of course only real estate. Property in the widest sense.

< The most important thing in the world should be the best life for all living creatures. > That's right. The ants, antelope, grass, cheetahs and ant-eaters should just love one another. None of that nasty territorial behaviour over property. One big, happy, commune where we share everything from our toothbrushes to our wives and Ferraris.

<the human species isn't going to get all hot and bothered (except for the sociopaths) and absolutely inspired by property rights.>

You are wrong. That's exactly what people do get hot and bothered about. The world's biggest military is about property. Very material property. All the bank accounts are about property. Your wallet is property. Touch somebody on the arm and they'll probably smile, touch them on the wallet and they'll sock you.

People like it when the bank balances and property portfolios grow. They like it when their offspring get a good job and can be successfully independent. Without property, we are nothing more than hairy smelly primates scrabbling around the jungles in hunter-gatherer survival mode. I doubt you could keep up with a cheetah and you don't like eating ants or grass. Maybe you could eat ant-eaters for a living. Go for it [but remember your first rule - "The most important thing in the world should be the best life for all living creatures."]

Are you sure your philosophy is fully thought out? Why not click onto that libertarianz.org.nz and actually read it instead of just staying in your false beliefs which will lead you to misery if you act on them, which I know you don't.

<Who wants to live on a planet with this kind of dog-eat-dog attitude? Who?>

Me for one. Except that it's not dog eat dog. It's usually dog eat antelope, antelope eat grass. In the human realm, it's voluntary exchange of created value from one person to another. There isn't much human cannibalism these days, using slave labour and conquest, contrary to what you obviously believe, though of course there is plenty.

Even in the "free" world, people still vote to take OPM and I suppose you are one of those immoral, unethical greedy people since you don't think Libertarianism is any good. Most people are, so you are in good company; just another cannibal, consuming others, though indirectly rather than just eating them. Slavery, cannibalism, conquest, confiscation and cruelty have always been popular. Personally, I can't see why people like you go on voting for more of the same, but each to their own. They say they don't like a dog eat dog world, then ensure it takes place by their voting and general actions.

But right now, corn is in season and I am in a human eats corn world, not dog eat dog, or human eats dog, or human eats ant-eater world, so I'm off for a delicious coffee [human eats coffee], buy some more corn and have a feast [along with rock melon, watermelon, the best hazel nuts and walnuts I've ever had, and other yummies].

I want you to study that Libertarian site and I will test your knowledge later. If you don't pass, you have to resit and no corn or ant-eaters for you. It's going to be ants!
