>If the Israeli geography were 67% Jewish and 12% Arab, why did the neighboring Arabs have such a beef with it in 1947?

Well, for one thing, those were the census numbers for just one city... I'm sure they're not representative of the whole territory.

A late 1800s Turkish colonial census does corroborate the point about Jerusalem, though.

re: Anyway, if those population numbers are accurate for the 1905 "Israel geography" as a whole (you said they were for 1905 Jerusalem)

you make no sense - Israel and Jerusalem is not the same thing. Try to read it very slowly - Israel is a country while Jerusalem is a city. Israel was carved out from palestine when palestine was divided between Israel, Jordan and new palestinian state. Most of the original Israeli land was nothing more than a desert. Jerusalem was international city. Arabs did not want Israel to exist nor did they want Jerusalem to be international city. While there problems between Palestinian arabs and Israelis the real problem was created by other arab states like Egypt, Syria and Jordan.

See, if you would know a bit history you would know that your solutions were already tried and failed. You would also know that the problem was not and is not between palestinian arabs and israel but between israel and other arab countries who absolutely have no claim on the land.

lesson is over
