That's one theory, which is possible. In the end, the evidence is what validates which theories. So far, the hidden WMDs theory is false and indeed, that theory has been abandoned by King George II and anyone who is serious.

It's just as well "WMD denial" wasn't a crime or a lot of people would have been imprisoned incorrectly.

Of course Saddam still thinks he can become boss again. That's what he does. He probably can. He wasn't much worse than the current lot according to recent reports about tortures and deaths carried out by the USA-supported regime. I bet a lot of people think the best outcome would be Saddam brutalizing everyone into stability and subservience, rebuilding of the palaces and opening the spigots to supply the USA all the oil they want, crashing the price of oil so SUV drivers aren't impoverished.

He wasn't the first one in the middle east to use cruelty and death to get compliance. I imagine that goes on in a lot of places. It has even gone in USA prisons, albeit only 100 or so killed by cruelty as prisoners [not that all would be reported - one wouldn't be too keen to disclose such events]. Then there are the casual/careless shootings of all sorts of people.
