I don't have any crystal ball - I just take Roberts at his word. I think he'll be a better cheif than his predecessor. If Bush gets another appointment, the court will be horribly right-wing.

If Dems are clueless why are they 15% up in the polls vs. the GOP now. It's not that Kerry, for instance, was clueless, it's that he ran an honest campaign and didn't lie. Bush ran a totally dirty tricky campaign based on constant big lies, then voter fraud in selected states. In these type of battles, if they are very close, the cheater beats the honest candidate. The amorality of the modern GOP has caught up to them. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Alsao, once Dems take back congress, they will finally be able to investigate and present the truth about the vast extent of Bush crimes and unethical conduct.

That said, Rove is a political genius, but a very dishonest and dirty one, akin to Goebbels in the late 30's.

PS: Fox News also helps the Bushies. Tonight on Hannity's show they had four experts talking about Iraq. All four were rightwingers. This is not news, it's rightwing disinformation. True, Colmes is there, but he is outnumbered.
