If Schliemann was a lousy archeologist, wasn't he also one of the first? Were archeological methods developed by then, or did he just do the Indiana Jones method?
Yes. Something like modern methods had been developedm by some archaeologists, but were not in universal use. And don't knock Indiana! That's Holly's favorite name for me when one of these trips comes up!
