I'd sure like to see where it says in the Constitution you can take land from an individual and give it to a DEVELOPER to increase the tax base. IMHO that whole section they rely on was for THE PUBLIC GOOD, in the way of infrastructure such as roads and railroads NOT for SHOPPING MALLS or HIGH PRICED HOUSING. The largest case I believe in our nation is winding its way through the courts within 40 miles of where I live. I am very familiar with that property. Its a GORGEOUS piece of property with the potential to be worth MILLIONS if not BILLIONS, but MANY YEARS AGO underprivileged people were able to obtain it when it was worthless, build and live on it. They have an OUTSTANDING location, near the intracoastal AND the beach, there are Marinas there that are AFFORDABLE to small boaters etc etc. Riviera Beach wants to take it over and sell it to a developer who will build VERY HIGH PRICED CONDOS eliminating many JOBS and forcing people out of their homes WITH ABSOLUTELY NO ABILITY TO FIND REPLACEMENT HOUSING as this area is now very expensive and they will offer them relative PEANUTS. jdn
