There was an excellent article on the WSJ Op Ed today that is on the subscribers’ side: Are We Playing for Keeps? In Iraq, Iranian practice outsmarts American principle. By MICHAEL RUBIN This American Enterprise Institute scholar points out that Iran is replaying the Bakaa valley script. They used the script to create Hezbollah and also the reciprocal Sunni terrorist movement in Southern Lebanon. We do not use patronage and bribery to coerce every day Iraqis. Iran does. They have a proven strategy that may outflank us. The rewards described here would probably be financed by Iran.
