I am not saying our move toward military solutions is right--it just seemed to me in that earlier post of mine that americans sort of feel all alone out there. And now we find out that folks whose interests we think we are defending (sometime mistakenly) couldnt defend themselves if they had to. Was the cost of euro-socialism, national defense. Is there any army in europe other than GB that can fight effectively in other areas of the world. I think Chirac by threatening first strike nukes was showing how weak a hand europe really has. For euros its "we live in a welfare state and war/self defense is something we just dont want to think about" effectively leaving it to the Elephant who does some mucking up along the way.
