Be careful, I have a former general and chief of the DDR tank forces working for me since 1990.
He knows EVERYTHING about tanks.
But, as a matter of fact he also champions the Russian tanks over anything produced by the Germans and most of the time by the West.

They had good tanks, and some able commanders but the regular soldier on the front was often treated like cannon fodder. China did the same sort of think against us in the Korean war. Sort of the "crunch all you want will make more" method of fighting a war...
