Damned if I know. They sure eat a lot of gerbils though. They just wait for a biologist to come along with lunch.

Barred owls eat spotted owls, apparently. There seems to be a preference for the latter. Other than horizontal stripes versus spots, I could not tell the difference.

I thought when that logging went through the spotted owl was going to be extinct because of lack of virgin timber. Oh that's right, it turned out they like the clear cut area better and are thriving due to more little critters to eat.

What a surprise the whackos were wrong yet again:)
