Michael, I'm thinking the NUN would be a very thin client federal system with very limited constitutional powers to tell countries what to do within their borders. I don't think it should be something with millions of federal supervisors checking the plumbing in Peoria or second-guessing policing in Idaho.

I don't think the constitutional powers should include dictating to countries which vessels or people should be allowed to enter their countries.

I'm in favour of having USA military ships, noocular-powered and armed, hanging out here in NZ. But most people aren't. There is a lot that the majority wants in NZ and I disagree with nearly all of them, but I'm happy to accept their majority rule. It's better than conflict. So I'm happy to go along with it.

We are either in favour of democratic rule or we aren't.

Of course I'll complain when I see my taxes wasted and more so when used counter-productively. Quit complaining about me complaining :-]

<Then quit complaining when we use those military tax dollars to create a safer planet. ;-) >

It's my money. What did your last slave die of? Hey, I've got nothing against Americans. Some of my best friends are American.
