You have touched on something that's been on my mind. I've long felt that the title of this thread might not properly convey the intended subject matter (reality defying POV's). Unless folks knew the song, "Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall", they wouldn't make the connection to the title of this thread which incorporates one of the lyrics (I will continue to continue to pretend). I'm thinking about changing the title of this thread because of that. My top two choices are: - "Thick as a Brick" (title of a Jethro Tull album), or - 'Perception is Reality.... Regardless of the Facts' (a phrase I coined here on SI) Sadly, neither of them fully convey the intended subject matter for the thread. Perhaps make "Thick as a Brick" the title with 'Perception is...' as the subtitle? ... or visa versa? FWIW, here are the lyrics to the song where I got the current thread title; Through the corridors of sleep Past the shadows dark and deepMy mind dances and leaps in confusion. I don’t know what is real, I can’t touch what I feel And I hide behind the shield of my illusion. So I’ll continue to continue to pretend My life will never end, And flowers never bend With the rainfall. The mirror on my wall Casts an image dark and smallBut I’m not sure at all it’s my reflection. I am blinded by the light Of God and truth and right And I wander in the night without direction. So I’ll continue to continue to pretend My life will never end, And flowers never bend With the rainfall. It’s no matter if you’re born To play the king or pawn For the line is thinly drawn ’tween joy and sorrow,So my fantasy Becomes reality, And I must be what I must be and face tomorrow. So I’ll continue to continue to pretend My life will never end, And flowers never bend With the rainfall. TITLE: Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall ALBUMS · Parsley, Sage, Rosemary Thyme (1966)
