Can think of earth bound lizards in the deserts or along the plains so long ago that dreamed of flying ...some fish sprouted wings too ;-) Culturally so far back into the forever of our past , a distant relative would stand upon a dune, plain or on a mountain haunted by the universal primeval fear of the darkness and all there that lurks & haunted(hunted) us , and our thoughts turned to flying too, up close to the warmth and light of the sun, longing to be like the eagles gliding effortlessly above . Beyond threat , hunger , and able to see far ... (could have been a sour mother-in-law or complaining mate he wanted to escape as well !) How powerful was that scene in Titanic , when the young artist stands with the girl on the prow of the ship with arms outstretched and they were--->Flying ! The most popular movie of all time.... The Muezzin cries from high up in the tower calling the faithful to prayer , so good in this life we will be granted flight in the next ! No mother ever had to teach her infant to suckle ....somethings are a goodness already from within and constructed right there before us ! The hand that rocks the cradle , rules the world ....at least some less monotheistic civilizations saw it that way (old hindu saying) ;-)

Hey if you get a chance this week and tonight, Charlie Rose is presenting a Special Edition series of "Conversations from India " .... Last night he had Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and he was just beautifully thoughtful and intelligent little/great man . following up he will have the National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan, business leaders Azim Premji, Nandan Nilekani, Ratan Tata, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Anil Agarwal, Actress/Activist Shabana Azmi as well as Indian journalists. Nice to take a break from the constant drumming out from the ME and their constant complaints , and focus on India a bit and her thinkers ...and the world's largest democracy . Charlie Rose is just a doll ... just love that fellow , and world leaders, artists , and thinkers trust him like no other .
