I actually discovered Gargano just on my own back in 1970, when it took for ever to travel by car the narrow roads from Ancona and down. Since then I went many times with friends, family and kids up to 1990 or so. But the autostrada extension changed a lot. Where small and very private vineyards used to be and serving a family only, big and ugly camping and RVC areas popped up to serve the explosive growth of tourism. It is still great though and I know that down towards Alboreto one can still get good deals for some Casa. Taro
