Or the business will fail, causing unemployment. Or the business will pay less. Or the business wil vote with their feet, and move to a more favorable location. Or...

Buck Knives was one of the classic stories about long-time California businesses fleeing to other states.

They're in Idaho now.

Move to Idaho Helps Company Thrive

San Diego Business Journal
1/27/2006

It has been one year since Buck Knives halted production in El Cajon and headed north to a new factory in the Idaho panhandle. And so far, things have gone well for the manufacturer.

Not 100 percent as planned, but well.

As temperatures peaked in the high 20s outside, C.J. Buck, the president and chief executive officer of the private company, described Idaho as receptive to business and friendly on the pocketbook.

"Starting with the governor and going right on down to your next-door neighbor, there is an understanding that business is good," said Buck.

Revenue should be $38 million this year, up from "just under $35 million" last year, Buck said. He declined to give net income, though he said the company should be profitable this year. Buck Knives, he said, lost money from 1999 to 2002.

Peter, what ever the consequences are, it is not good for America. It seems that a lot of companies have been moving away from their original base, and making the move to a better climate for their stockholders.

Our family company did a lot of business with J.C. Penney, and during that time, I had to visit with them in NYC, and somewhere in the early, or middle, 80s, they move the entire operation to Dallas.

If the voting public has sense enough to delve into the meaning of the clap trap being spouted by the Democrat socialists, it will be the death of that party, but I fear the ability, integrity, and knowledge of many of the voters in this country. Too many of them are looking out only for their own wallets, and being duped by their greed, and the empty promises of the Democrats.
