Talking about the Brits and their extortions in the colonies, The Dutch were not far behind. Neither were the French. But what's less known, the Belgians starting out with a little private business by their king down in Congo most likely took the price for brutality. Thus even surpassing the Dutch in Surinam. But your belief is that only the war which impacted YOUR ancestors should get the special treatment - you conveniently neglect a lot of other wars and abuses in history. Yeah, but Amy, in the case of WWII, it was possible to track down the particular banks/companies that had taken possession of the victims' property... there was quite the paper trail, apparently. I think that Holocause restitution was OK, I just wish someone would've stood up for other victims besides the Jews. -Z
