You haven't? I try to avoid those.
When I was a kid, my mother rented a meat locker and I would go there with her. Of course, I was too dumb to ask questions, just considered it part of the landscape. But I remember that cold storage smell.

You have missed one of the nicer things in life. At a butcher shop or locker plant you can get custom cuts of fine meat or buy a quarter or side of beef cut just how you want it or a whole hog for a big BBQ.
