You can make a case for the superiority of some elements of Western culture (but to do so you have to accept the premise that the freedom of the individual and his fulfillment as an individual are paramount, imo), namely political and philosophical ones, but when it comes to the arts or food or things that go to the pleasures of life, I don't think you can.

Neo tended to roll them all up in to one big ball of wax.

Exactly- thoughtful! Neo did do that, though I didn't agree always. And I think sometimes I didn't agree because he seemed to limit himself to the classics and then extrapolated to all things Western. He was very settled in his superiority in all areas.
I still miss him.
