I found this - my emphasis in bolding underlined:

A fresh SEC lawsuit in Florida accuses John R. (Jay) Shrewder of Tulsa, Okla., of sending millions of faxes purporting to be an “independent analysis” recommending Artec and Sequoia Interest. In fact, the feds say, Artec’s management gave Shrewder more than 1 million shares of Artec stock for his efforts. The public companies are not parties to the lawsuit, to which Shrewder has not yet responded.
