Cat's death is no reason to panic, says official

gulfnews.com

Abu Dhabi: The National Committee for Emergency Response to Bird Flu has advised residents not to panic at the news of a cat dying of the bird flu virus strain in Germany.

Majid Al Mansouri, spokesman of the committee and Secretary General of Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD), told Gulf News there is no need to be worried about the virus transmitting from one species of animals to another, as the greatest risk lies only in human-to-human spread of the virus, which has not been proved yet. "By the will of Allah it will not happen," he said.
