People buy things that they don't need all the time. That is the point of marketing.

Your belief that people are rational and do things in a logical manner is pretty funny. People do all kinds of silly, emotional, self-destructive and ridiculous things all the time.

The point is that management at American car companies suck. its sucked for decades. They are now reaping the benefit of sucking for so long but instead of taking responsibility for not having a plan for the era of gasoline, they're blaming the unions and their workers.

All of which leads to even more sucking. There's nothing like having a workforce that despises management.

Actually, you don't want people deciding for themselves. You want them to agree with you.

As I said, your mindset is only about one thing: money. That's why you cannot see that the lowest cost is not the most important thing. That's a very cold and ugly mindset.

Heck, why don't you go into the lowest cost situation of all like Tom DeLay and his slave labor? Don't bother to pay anyone anything....it's really, really cheap.

I think that decent wages make for a good working relationship and good community. I'm not interested in pounding people into the dirt to get $25 off of a TV.
