Not only that, but I don't think Ted Kennedy knows Jack Abramoff. I bet Cheney does!

There are a lot of conflicting stories; most of it is sensationalistic, which over time gets debunked, that ends up as a credit to Cheney not as a demerit.

Journalists went, predictably, hog wild over this event. Cheney was smart to keep his mouth shut and let the journalists go off the deep end, followed by Bush haters who would take that to even another level. By the time the dust settled and any reasonable and plausible description of the event could be produced, Cheney's behavior looked like an ice cream social in comparison.

Any hint of a cover-up would normally be devastating for the white house but under the shadow of all the media exaggerated hype and wild allegations by the Bush haters, whatever Cheney might have kept to himself would not be very news worthy.

I realize the people on this thread will never get that.
