Dubai has a long history of cooperating with our enemies. They also don't recognize Israel, but did recognize the Taliban. Iran's nuclear materials went through Dubai. Bin Lauden has or had bank accounts there which the 9-11 hijackers tapped. Two of the hijackers lived in Dubai. And if you think this all suddenly stopped after 9-11 you're dreaming. These Arabs may be cronies of Bush, but they are not friends of ours. They only tolerate us for strategic reasons. But they might as well be from another planet as far as ethics and morality go. One more story, which I will repeat again. I knew an assistant to an Arab Prince. Right after 9-11, he told me that before 9-11 all the rich Arabs were talking about "something big" coming that was going to happen to the US. That's typical cocktail party chatter in Dubai. Dubai is also a big black market and a rule-free zone where rich Arabs can get laid and drink all they want. It's like a modern-day Casablanca with oil money. It's also a huge weapons trafficking center. Sound safe to you? NOT.
