You might be right, I don't know about little kids in schools, it has been a long time since I knew anyone who had kids that age. OTOH, I do know a number of people who have been Gay Bashed. So I don't know about the attitudes of kids in schools. And until now no one has presented the problem. What do you suggest?

notified the teacher on duty and was told a reprimand would go home in the kids' agendas... but will anything come of it ?

If anything was going to come of it, the incident wouldn't have happened in the first place. My kids know that the wrath of God would descend upon them if something like that was reported back to me. But many parents don't seem to be paying attention these days. Hence monsters, indeed.
