Yes that is a trend not a blip. I agree, maybe a trend that could be reversed, but still a trend. re: we are losing our middle class ******* No we are not. Yes we are. A significant percentage in positions that would previously be middle class, are moving to low class. Former union workers, former skilled positions that are being replaced by mere date entry positions. It's remarkable you can't see this happening, everyone else can. re: Limiting the growth of government doesn't equate to the end of big government, unless perhaps you limit it to below the rate of inflation for generations. You are arguing at the margin. Of course Clinton and the Rep congress didn't turn around the huge momentum of the growth of government on a (historical) dime, but they did a hell of a job slowing the growth. Below revenue, which created a budget surplus and contributed to a fine growth in GDP. Now, we are back to that dark world of ever expanding government spending... on a new scale. We are growin government at an unsustainable rate. You never did answer this about the neo's--"Unfortunately" is subjective, I think it's fortunate. You can't see the reality through the rhetoric. The current administration and congress should be abhorrent to a "libertarian", a catastrophe. If you think there is any connection between libertarians and neoconservatives, you need to pay attention. The neo's are the antithesis of libertarians, much farther away than traditional liberals. You can work for your libertarian utopia, or you can work for incremental change. If you want change towards your agenda, then the Dems are a better horse to ride than the neo's, which are going the other direction. John
