I am sure Bush was doing what he thought was right in time of pending crisis. Which was to provide encouragement and trust in the assurances of our infrastructure and preparedness. I don't see anything insidious in that. The same thing could have occurred on previous president's watches. I view the aftermath as a better measure of government effectiveness, than what happened leading up to the disaster.

This crisis had threatened before and then everything turned out ok as storms change track and reduce their intensity more often than not. What have we learned from this? [Place obligatory bush bash here]
