09:27 MU Micron: Strength in PC DRAM pricing heightens ahead of the quarter - Amtech (15.95 )

Amtech is maintaining a positive bias on MU shares ahead of its earnings at the end of the month as they believe results may beat their EPS estimate of $0.03 given PC DRAM pricing strength. In response to this strength, they think their $0.11 estimate for May is likely to move higher following the report. Firm believes the price improvement in PC DRAM is partially due to MU easing up on Core DRAM production while it attempts to ramp NAND, thus leaving PC manufacturers scrambling for supply. They say loss in core DRAM share will only be mitigated if the co decides to move some wafer starts from Specialty DRAM to Core DRAM, which if it does happen, would not occur until the third quarter of CY06 at the earliest. On the Image sensor side of the business, they believe the market is still 10-20% undersupplied, which is another positive for MU. Although they believe the consensus estimates for February are too high as a result of pricing increases in Core DRAM not occurring until too late in the quarter, they still maintain their positive bias on the shares as May estimates will likely increase on higher ASPs.

Thanks for the SNDK comments. Where do you get these, if I might ask?

I've reposted some of them on the SNDK board. Hope you don't mind.
