Chinese inventions are well known, printing presses for Chinese characters, book publishing, the compass, fire works, paper, silk. So what's the connection with investing? I guess it's don't assume China lacks inventive ability. Western Europe went technologically ahead of the rest of the world because the economic systems were freer, so I think. That's one problem with India, too many controls. The situation is improving.

I think the Chinese did invent book printing, but the process lacked movable type.

Asians did "discover" America first, after all, they were the first settlers!

My mother's mitochondrial DNA is Northern Native American, no surprise as her mother's mother was Chippewa. Closest "relatives" are Aleuts and Siberians.
