I think our trip was a little later in 1969.

I don't remember the month, but I remember the shock when we moved in to our little apartment and I showed up for work at the Ranger Station the first day.

My first duties were to be in a field camp way up by the Canadian border; in fact, we had to loop through Canada to get to this camp. It was a little better than a tent camp, because they had built a special bunk trailer. It was cold and there was snow on the ground. It was September or October, I'm sure. Some of the bear stories that I related were out of this camp. Subject 50458

I loved it, of course, but my young wife and infant daughter had to go it alone back in a strange place

Wow! I was at Mt. Rushmore in 1969 on a trip with my family (mother, brothers and sisters). We were returning from a mega road trip that took us to Colorado, 4 Corners, SoCal, up the Coast, SF, Mt. Rainier, Yellowstone, etc.

Woner if we were all there at the same time?
