Sounds like it's easier to control access to junk food than "junk teachers."

Realistically, students and their families have very little
control over the assigned teachers, administrators and curriculum.

Education systems tend to be like cruise ships.
They can't, and don't, turn on a dime
on any issue<G>

"we should have a zero tolerance for junk teachers, but apparently the teachers union agrees with you wrt 'quality control' and teaching....

not only do they see no problem with JUNK teachers, apparently they have little concern about DRUNK teachers"

Interesting
so because I think junk food might be more dangerous, you then decide I agree with the teachers union, and that the opinion I would have (which the union agress with) is that I would see no problem with junk teachers OR drunk teachers? Hmmm

Seems like you've taken a whopping leap of logic there wrt my position. My actual position? I see a problem with both junk teachers and junk food- but junk teachers might only last a year, junk food habits can last a lifetime- since they are habits. Ah the misstatements of position- they just go on and on and on and on and on. I realize it's easier to spar with a straw man than a real one, but it's also not very impressive. I guess MPH was right- misstatements from other posters wrt to my positions DO happen all the time (you'd almost think it was intentional...) I must remember to thank him (her?) for pointing that out.
