I was back at Rushmore in 1971. Had a 1964 Rambler station wagon. Muffler fell off somewhere in the Black Hills. I said, "toss it in back, if we get stopped by the cops, we'll say it just fell off." We carried that muffler across the country, until my friends made me throw it out somewhere in California. Of course, I got stopped by Oregon State Police in Roseburg, OR, for the missing muffler. I said, "well, it just fell off." The response, "where is it?" Doh. Got a ticket for that one.
