It certainly seems that they're in a state of paralysis, waiting for good news so they can continue building those permanent bases. Otherwise, they seem to have nothing in their pocket except the blame game.

Even if the WH wanted to step into the civil war, it's not as if there are enough troops there anyway. This entire thing is spinning out of control while Iran plugs away with its threats, Pakistan is worrying about its growing AQ problem and Afghanistan is also headed for disintegration...again.

I think we're past the tipping point on all of these fronts and it's just a matter of praying that they just fizzle on their own or stay contained within their own borders. Wishful thinking that but I can't help but wish for it anyway.

What a mess of gigantic proportions. It's not only terrible for us, it's incredibly sad for those in the thick of things.
