How do you know Kerry didn't really win in Ohio? With all the massive cheating, and the exit polls showing Kerry had won at 4 pm election day, one cannot discount the possibility that Diebold pushed a button and gave the election to Bush.

Yes, smear campaigns can be effective. Which is why they ouight to be illegal. There is no proper way to respond to a smer campaign. Also, Bush lied-lied-lied that the smearvets weren't part of his campaign. They definitely were, and they were paid for by corporate money. There were very few real vets in the group, mainly rightwing political operatives.

The same type smear campaign derailed McCain in 2000 in South Carolina. Not a single bit of any of these smear campaigns has been true.
