Kerry did not vote for Bush's war. He was very clear he was voting simply to give Bush war powers and expected Bush to keep his promise only to invade as a last resort.

Kerry was highly critical of the way Bush broke his promises to congress then rushed to war unprepared. Also, don't forget that now we know the intel Bushies were providing to the Senate was doctored to support Bush's phony arguments. There will be an investigation of this soon but we already know the situation. Pat Roberts was complicit and helped Bush-Cheney conceal the real intel and show only the doctored evidence. They also used the New York Times and other media outlets to spread their lies.
