>>Kerry won't be the next president

Kerry's lucky if he could get a job in the garden department at WalMart... :^)

Kerry never backs down from anyone. He merely wouldn't stoop to the level of a John O'Neill and Jerome Corsi, two proven extremist liars and political hacks. If Kerry had addressed them directly he would have elevated them.

In the same way, Bush would not directly face off with Michael Moore. Though Moore's claims about Bush turned out to be true, and the smearvets claims all turned out to be phony.

The press also helped Bush with his smear campaign. They actually gave those smearvets free air time. That was just plain wrong. They almost fell for the "Kerry boffs intern" BS too. They just barely avoided giving air-time to that one.

Laurence O'Donnell of MSNBC though blew up at O'Neill and called him LIAR! LIAR! LIAR on air. Laurence was right. But O'Neill didn't give a damn. So long as the lies kept getting spread, he didn't care. He has no conscience.

So what would you have had Kerry do, stop his campaign and go kick in O'Neill's door and beat the shit out of him? Actually, in retrospect, not a bad idea. But it still would've played into Bush's hands.

Bottomline, smear campaigns are impossible to defend against so long as the press lets the perps get away with them. Worked against McCain, Kerry, Cleland, CLinton and will continue polluting our democracy until we make them illegal.

They're not free speech, they're libel. In fact they're evil.
