Yes, foreign subsidies for foreign companies to do something unprofitable here amounts to those countries giving us stuff for FREE.

By the same token, the elimination of tariffs on OUR end, while foreign countries maintain theirs (or issue subsidies) ALSO amount to giving us stuff for free.

We could make our OWN government become so generous re-taxes on capital formation. But then we'd just bitch about DOMESTIC companies taking over port management here.

And besides, George Voinovich would probably break into tears on TV again...
