Why not just wish for my house to burn down, that way the rest of my citymates don't have to suffer for my insensitivity.

But, while you are at it, could you show me in the U.S. constitution where the federal government is given the power to compensate people who have lost their homes in natural disasters? Or maybe where it says that the federal government is responsible for preparing municipalities for natural disaster.

Since I live in earthquake country, there is no doubt that my area will experience a natural disaster. And I will continue living in a single level wood frame home which is appropriate for earthquake prone areas. And if my home is damaged, I won't blame the President for not warning me of the danger of earthquakes or for not telling me to move out of earthquake country. And I won't expect the government to pay to fix the damages to my home. That's why I have insurance.
