That's sorta not what I said. 10% was Athlon's share of the TOTAL processor market about the time it started shipping in volume.

Let's not consider Celeron servers. One that is not what I meant and two they would REDUCE not increase the percentage of Athlons.

Three, Intel really did not have a "server" chip. Yes, you could goose a P3, and that is what Intel was calling servers at that time, but Xeon did not ship until about June 2001.

During that time Athlon was the server chip of choice, the next step up was like a Sunw workstation.

At that time and for a brief period Athlon had my guess 60% of the "small server" market.

In a way, then 14% now, is a step down, not up.

I will readily give up this position to anyone who can add more. :)
