John, thanks for that. It's not an experiment: <Hundreds of experiments with plants growing in an atmosphere with double the present level of CO2 have shown an increase in productivity of between 20 and 50 percent (references to these studies can be found on the excellent co2science website). Increased plant growth due to increased CO2 levels have been noted already in many areas. >

25 years ago I was selling gas to horticulturalists for their glasshouses to make them warmer and richer in CO2. They were not experimenting. They knew exactly what the benefit would be for the cost and how much to burn.

My favourite new expression is Peak People [TM], which is far more important than Peak Oil. I just asked Google but can't tell whether I'm the first to use the words like that or not.

With the baby bust around the world, we are soon to enter a population decline. Japan is already in it.

Yes, the scientist have been feeding false images of huge chunks of antarctic ice breaking off onto our TV screens. They declared they had run out of the standard names for hurricanes when they reached "z" and they had to start using greek letters instead. They must have hid extra letters.

I remember reading George Orwell saying that he ascribed very sophisticated machinations to his political enemies, but when he tried to dream up equally sophisticated manoeuvres for his own bias, he was unable to come up with anything very clever.
