That tends to come from punctures from old nails and such. Horse manure tends to have it so anyone mucking stalls should have a tetanus shot.

Carolyn, With all due respect to your physician, I think doc should have inquired about your tetanus immunization status and recommended such if you were not up to date on same.

In your physician's defense, I guess priorities change over time. Augmentin is a good all-purpose prophylactic antibiotic for cat bites/scratches.
